This Privacy Policy explains how USG Jobs ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website at usgjobs.org (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the Service:

• Account information — your email address when you create an account.
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We never store your full card number or banking details on our servers.
• CV / resume data — if you upload a CV as a Pro user, it is used only within your session to generate job match scores and coaching suggestions. It is not stored permanently on our servers and is not shared with third parties.
• Alert preferences — filters and criteria you configure for job email alerts.
• Usage data — basic analytics collected via Google Analytics to help us improve the Service. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
• To send job alert emails at the frequency associated with your plan.
• To process subscription payments through Stripe.
• To improve the Service based on aggregated usage patterns.
• To respond to your support requests or feedback.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Email Communications

If you enable job alerts, we will send you digest emails at your chosen frequency (weekly for Free users, daily for Pro users). You can unsubscribe at any time from your account settings or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any alert email.

We may also send you occasional service-related emails (e.g., billing confirmations, policy updates). These are necessary for operating your account and cannot be opted out of while you maintain an account.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your account data is stored securely using Supabase. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls to protect your information.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the platform:

• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase — database and authentication. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics — aggregated site usage analytics. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Job listing data is sourced from publicly available USG institution career portals. USG Jobs is not affiliated with or endorsed by the University System of Georgia.

6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to collect analytics data. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features of the Service may not function correctly without them.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at the email below. To delete your account and associated data, email us and we will process your request within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
